Senior Infrastructure Analyst, IT

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced IT professional to join our team! Reporting to the VP HR & Administration the Senior Infrastructure Analyst will ensure that Alta Steel’s 24/7 365-day business operations and processes are executed effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate should have experience implementing, supporting and maintaining a reliable information technology network, server and storage structure. Working as part of the IT team, the successful candidate will be able to take ownership of the networking and telephony infrastructure – while also assisting team members with the other elements.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with safety policies and completion of required safety observations
  • Managing and maintaining of network environment and server infrastructure
  • Manage, maintain and administrate operational camera systems, routers, switches, firewalls, Local Area Networks, Virtual Private Network and Wireless Network
  • Documenting processes/Updating infrastructure drawings and documentation
  • Maintain accurate information of all IT Infrastructure components and assets
  • Architecture and management of Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, Print, O365, Teams, SharePoint and SQL Services
  • Problem diagnosis, troubleshoot, and manage through to resolution, hardware, and software problems
  • Implementation and maintenance of corporate backup systems
  • Maintain positive working relationships with multiple vendors and technology providers
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in IT network technologies
  • Identify, coordinate and participate in IT improvement projects
  • Evaluating, testing, and implementing technical solutions to address compliance and business needs
  • Maintain and enhance corporate IT policies and procedures following Industry best practices
  • Ensure corporate IT security policies and procedures are enforced in the network, server and storage environment to protect from unauthorized access
  • Understand the business needs and commitment to deliver high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 year diploma in a computer systems related program, with a focus on network, server, and storage.
  • 5 years’ experience of directly related work experience in infrastructure administration and support for a small medium business environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in administration and maintenance of firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Experience with TCP/IP and other network protocols
  • Experience with VPN (Site-to-site and remote)
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki
  • Experience in Microsoft Server Products:
    Windows Servers, SQL Servers, O365, Teams and Share Point
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure and Azure
  • Experience in virtualization environment (VMware, Hyperconverged Infrastructure)
  • Knowledge of Linux Server
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment with the ability to think clearly, analyze, prioritize work items, and scope out technical requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Taking initiative and having a passion for positive results
  • CCNA or CCNP is an asset
  • Experience in operational camera systems is an asset
  • Experience working for an organization that is required to adhere to general IT controls (GITC or ITIL) is an asset
  • Experience supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Job Details

  • Core working hours are Monday to Friday between 7:30am – 4:30pm, however evening and weekend may be required in response to implementations and systems supported.
  • Provide rotational on-call after hour support 7x24x365
  • Permanent, full-time position with benefits and pension
