Role Responsibilities
Are you passionate about compensation strategy, data, research, and public sector policy? Join PBCO as a Compensation Analyst and help shape fair, evidence-based compensation frameworks that support government fiscal goals and public sector sustainability.
Reporting to the Manager of Compensation Research Analytics, the Compensation Analyst will provide support to Management to lead the development and implementation of strategic compensation policy for non-unionized and unionized compensation across the broader public sector.
Research, Market Pricing and Benchmarking
Conduct compensation benchmarking and total rewards analysis across sectors and jurisdictions.Coordinate with third-party vendors to validate market data and survey results.Analyze complex compensation data and prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leaders.Maintain and enhance compensation databases to support evidence-based decisions.Survey Design and Administration
Support development and improvement of total compensation survey systems.Define survey requirements, test systems, and validate data quality.Prepare and present survey findings to stakeholders.Policy Development and Strategic Projects
Lead or support pay reviews, inter-jurisdictional comparisons, and benchmark reviews.Identify policy gaps and develop practical recommendations.Support bargaining mandate development through analysis of trends and data.Client Consulting
Consult with external agencies and sector representatives to develop and implement unionized and non-unionized compensation frameworks and related tools.Interpret and explain compensation policies, job evaluation frameworks, and survey methodologies.Audit agency compensation plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with PBCO requirements.Compensation Framework Design and Oversight
Support the design and implementation of compensation structures across the broader public sector.Ensure compensation plans align with government policy and internal equity principles.Review and improve existing compensation frameworks and policies.Environmental Scanning and Trend Monitoring
Monitor labour market trends, compensation best practices, and legislative changes.Provide summaries and briefings to leadership on emerging risks and issues.
