JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Clinical Aide is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients and physicians and executing on the organization’s strategic objectives as it relates to clinic operations and patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greeting and registering patientsInitiating forms, creating billings and collecting payment for uninsured servicesEscorting patients to exam rooms and preparing patients for physicianSetting up and assisting with minor surgical procedures, pelvic examinations/IUD’sPerforming diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician including but not limited to urinalysis, simple blood glucose testing and pregnancy testing.Performing COVID rapid antigen testing with both symptomatic and asymptomatic patientsPerforms a variety of care interventions and medical procedures as permitted by the physician, within the designated scope of practiceAware of organization’s core purpose and core values and performing to these Core Values on an ongoing basisAccurately charting any medical procedures or interventions performed in the patient chartFollows standards of cleanliness and safetyScheduling and notifying patients of appointmentsScanning patient documents as requiredOpening mail, receiving faxes and distributing appropriatelyCompleting daily, weekly and monthly chore listsUnderstands physician profiles and executes on requests in order to properly support physiciansActively participates in company initiativesPerforms other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A medical degree from a school of medicine listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.Successful completion of the MCCQE 1/MCCQE2 (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination) or MCCEE (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination)Experience with Med Access software is preferredExcellent communication, listening and problem solving skillsExcellent clinical and customer service and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act guidelinesStrong computer skills including ExcelCPRAbility to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act guidelinesCONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Ability to balance and manage workload tasks. Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
