Role Responsibilities
The Indigenous and Community Partnership Unit is currently seeking an agile and driven Senior Policy Analyst to to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of grant-funded projects and initiatives, engagement with Indigenous partners, and knowledge sharing within the department.
Reporting to a Manager in the Indigenous and Community Partnerships Unit of the Legislation and Community Partnerships Branch, the Senior Policy Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
Grant Management: Managing multiple Indigenous focused grants from proposal, agreement, and monitoring to close-out, and providing sound advice to guide implementation of the project and upholding stakeholder accountability to deliverables.Engagement: Fostering sustainable, positive working relationships with diverse partners and stakeholders to further ministry priorities. This includes participating in and representing the ministry on committees and working groups, as well as facilitating meetings.Briefing and Reporting: Leading and preparing recommendations and briefing materials for decision by senior leadership. Reporting updates, outcomes, issues, opportunities, and next steps to leadership about the unit's work. Provide subject matter expertise and advice on issues affecting Indigenous peoples, working with cross-government colleagues as needed.Issue Analysis: Conducting thorough research and policy analysis, including consolidating stakeholder and partner perspectives, to inform Indigenous mental health and addiction policy and program implementation.Project Management: Applying project management techniques and tools to assigned projects, adjusting project priorities and plans accordingly to effectively and efficiently achieve high quality, sustainable results.Communication Support: Providing input to meeting materials, correspondence, speaking notes, and other communications documents as requested to support department business goals..
