Now Hiring:
Planner I, Liaison Services (Competition #26-08). Parkland County has an opportunity for a temporary, full‑time Planner I, Liaison Services in the Planning & Development Services department, working until approximately March 2027. Reporting to the Senior Planner, Liaison Services, the Planner I will conduct research and report writing and engage in creative problem solving to support department wide process improvements. This position will assist with the facilitation of complex and politically sensitive developments within the County.
Using a project management approach, this position will work with various collaborators to create and implement a wide range of process improvements aimed at redesigning how planning applications are managed within the department.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in planning is considered an asset.
- Understanding of municipal land use planning practices and the application of provincial and municipal planning policies, legislation, processes, procedures, and statutory planning documents in the Alberta context.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build and maintain relationships with diverse groups of internal and external partners.
- Ability to translate research findings into actionable insights that inform improvement strategies.
- Excellent writing, presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to work within tight timelines and a dynamic workload.
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license and ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
The total rewards package includes: a starting annual salary of $83,100 to $89,900 (based on a 35-hour work week) with the option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
