Senior Instrumentation Estimator

Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Estimator to join our team in Nisku, Alberta. This role involves leading the development of complex estimates, interpreting bid package specifications and drawings to define the scope of work and required deliverables on commercial and industrial projects. Ideal candidates have 8 years of experience in a similar estimating role and are ready to work safely in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leads the development of complex estimates, interpreting bid package specifications and drawings to define the scope of work and required deliverables.
Oversees the preparation of accurate labour, equipment, and material estimates, ensuring alignment with current market trends, construction costs, and timelines.
Utilizes estimating software to guide the creation of material takeoffs, man-hour budgets, and project forecasts.
Analyzes and prepares cost impact estimates for scope changes, collaborating with project teams to manage updates effectively.
Chairs and participates in estimate planning, validation, and review meetings to ensure strategic alignment and accuracy.
Balances multiple competing priorities and delivers comprehensive, high-quality estimate packages within tight deadlines.
Contributes to process improvements and innovations within the estimating function.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum 7-8 years of experience in an estimating role.
An Instrumentation Journeyman with field experience is preferred.
Blueprint reading and interpretation.
Industrial field experience is preferred.
Prior experience working with Trimble Estimation or other estimating software.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Prior experience working with Bluebeam software.
Exceptional time-management skills.
Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.
Thrives in a busy, deadline‑oriented environment.
