Drafting Technician

Job description:

Outlaw Eagle Manufacturing Ltd. Is looking for a knowledgeable and creative drafting person to join our growing team. We have a high-productivity output that requires quick thinking and problem solving skills. We’re looking for highly motivated employees with a positive attitude who are interested in being part of an innovative product line. Only candidates that are chosen for interview will be contacted.

• Work onsite - must be within commuting distance or willing to relocate
• Prepare general arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings to support efficient and accurate product fabrication
• Work with sales rep(s) to prepare conceptual drawings for quoting new products
• Work with Manufacturing staff to improve product designs either for improved manufacturability, functionality, costs, and/or appearance
• Maintain the technical and design databases and ensure revision control for any design files
• Perform pre-build reviews and ensure project files are accurate
• Support other sales and production efforts as requested

• Diploma from recognized 2 year drafting design program plus draft/design experience
• Alternatively minimum 3 yeas draft/design experience in manufacturing/fabrication industry
• AutoCAD 2D is a necessity, applicant must have experience and be proficient with this software. Working knowledge of Solid Works software an asset
• Continuing development of product line using ingenuity and creativity
• Organizational & time management skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to identify and quickly resolve any inconsistencies
• Excellent written and spoken communications in English
• Knowledge of boat building techniques an asset
• Knowledge of sheet metal work an asset
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
