Role Purpose
The will be based in either Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB and will play a pivotal role in supporting engineering activities related to static equipment across various projects. The position involves directing project execution and overseeing deliverable creation for one major project or several smaller assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review specifications, material requisition, bid evaluations, and award recommendations for static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, and heat exchangers.
Evaluate mechanical design of static equipment using industry-standard tools such as PV Elite, Compress, and AME Tank.
Conduct site visits to operational facilities and participate in meetings at client locations.
Manage and review vendor documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Serve as the single point of contact with vendors for all engineering activities related to static equipment.
Coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff, and clients to ensure integrated solutions.
Maintain quality deliverables throughout the equipment procurement process.
Support work share activities with overseas offices for deliverables related to static equipment.
Develop and support hour estimation, Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates, deliverable requirements, and personnel loading for project scopes involving static equipment.
Provide support or serve as the Mechanical Lead as needed.
Technical and Industry Experience
Relevant experience in refinery operations, carbon capture and utilization, gas processing, green/blue hydrogen, and unconventional oil.
Excellent knowledge of applicable engineering theories, practices, and office procedures.
Extensive experience with static equipment in Oil and Gas facilities.
Comprehensive understanding of ASME, API, and Canadian codes.
Experience in static equipment repair, alteration, and fitness-for-service assessments is considered an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Extensive experience and subject-matter-expertise static equipment in Oil and Gas facilities.
