Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Elementary Teacher to be part of the Complexity Team working with Educational Assistants at Ochre Park School.
Ochre Park School offers PreK-4 programming and is located approximately 35 minutes north of the City of Edmonton in the Town of Redwater. The school has a student population of approximately 145 students and a dedicated teaching and support staff working together as a team to provide exemplary education to all students.
What You’ll Be Doing- Coordinate, plan, and deliver literacy and numeracy instruction, using data informed practices
- Coordinate, plan, and deliver behaviour support, using data informed practices
- Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance learning
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to school initiatives and the broader school community
- Collaborating with homeroom teachers to support and provide programming
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Working knowledge of the New Curriculum in K-4
- Working knowledge of research based instruction strategies, including but not limited to Heggerty, UFLI, Math Up, and Building Thinking Classrooms
- Classroom management that fosters a safe and caring environment
- Knowledge of or training in TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training in Schools)
- Trauma-informed practices
- Knowledge of restorative practice
- Strong individual or small group instruction skills
- Strong assessment practices
- Strong skills in using educational technology to support learning
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
