PSD is a proud provider of high-quality public education, serving more than 90,000 residents west of Edmonton, including the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County, and Fort Chipewyan. Our Division offers the breadth of a large geographic region while maintaining the close-knit relationships of smaller communities, where students, families, and staff know one another by name.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following principal position:
Nestled in a serene rural setting just minutes north of Stony Plain, Muir Lake School is a vibrant K‑9 community serving approximately 500 students. The school is renowned for its strong sense of community, where the collaboration between a highly engaged School Council, dedicated staff, and supportive families creates an environment where students feel a deep sense of belonging. The school is a true geographical and social anchor for the surrounding acreages and subdivisions.
Its impressive campus features modern playgrounds, a professional‑grade rubberized running track, and expansive athletic fields that, when paired with the adjacent Muir Lake Community Hall, make the school the definitive hub for local families. The school is a leader in environmental education, serving as the home for Parkland School Division’s Nature-Based Kindergarten. This innovative program utilizes the school’s unique location— local forest areas—to move the classroom outdoors, fostering curiosity and problem‑solving through land-based learning.
