The Role:We’re looking for a dedicated ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 and in small groups, helping neurodiverse pupils overcome learning barriers, regulate emotions, and build essential social communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your psychology background into action and make a measurable difference every day.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support for children with Autism and associated needs
- Implement strategies from EHCPs and IEPs with guidance from the SENCO
- Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour reinforcement
- Facilitate communication and social interaction in structured settings
- Track progress, celebrate achievements, and nurture self-esteem
- Psychology graduate (2:1 or above preferred)
- Experience supporting children or young people with ASD (school, clinic, or voluntary)
- Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and resilient under pressure
- Strong interest in SEN education, mental health, or therapeutic work
- Committed to safeguarding and child welfare
