Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Literacy Intervention Teacher.

The successful candidate will work in multiple elementary schools to plan, instruct, and assess a roster of grade K-3 students identified as needing targeted literacy intervention within a classroom setting.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong instructional skills in literacy, understands early learning progressions, and is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working across multiple school environments.

• Plan and implement literacy intervention activities in collaboration with homeroom teachers, Classroom Support Teachers, School Administration, and/or Division Staff
• Possess a strong ability to analyze student learning data and plan accordingly using guiding documents from Alberta Education and complementary resources
• Demonstrate experience in conducting literacy interventions
• Communicate effectively with students using age-appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school-specific behaviour strategies
• Conduct student assessments and analyze learning data to guide instructional decisions
• Implement record-keeping to track student progress

• Bachelor of Education and eligibility for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Experience delivering targeted literacy interventions
• Strong ability to analyze data and apply relevant Alberta Education guiding documents and resources
• Adaptability, initiative, and excellent organizational skills
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
