Construction ManagerOur client is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the construction of land development infrastructure and ensure new communities are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for managing engineering coordination, construction planning, tendering, contractor oversight, municipal approvals, site inspections, cost control, and warranty management. It requires close collaboration with consultants, municipalities, contractors, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on construction experience in land development infrastructure, strong contract management skills, and a deep understanding of municipal standards and approval processes.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:Manage all construction activities for new community infrastructure from engineering approval to warranty closeoutPrepare detailed construction budgets and work with development leadership on full project proformasCoordinate engineering consultants and contractors to develop efficient grading, earthworks, and infrastructure delivery strategiesOversee the preparation and submission of drawings, permits, site plans, and other regulatory documentationMaintain strong communication with municipalities regarding inspections, approvals, and development progressTender, negotiate, and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with scopes and timelinesMonitor construction schedules and proactively identify delays, providing solutions to maintain progressReview contractor invoices, progress claims, holdbacks, and change requests for accuracyCollaborate with sales and marketing teams regarding lot delivery, signage, showhome preparation, and onsite marketing initiativesManage site safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and warranty processesObtain Construction Completion Certificates and Final Acceptance for each stage of developmentMaintain organized project documentation, contracts, and financial recordsYour strengths include:A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of direct experience in land development or municipal infrastructure constructionProven project management and construction coordination skillsStrong familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and cost‑tracking toolsExcellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple contractors and competing priorities simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail and high standards for quality and safetyA valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel to construction sites
