Position: Superintendent – Infrastructure (Water & Sewer)
Location: Spruce GroveThompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a Superintendent supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of underground utility construction activities, including water, sanitary, and storm systems. This role provides leadership to site foremen and crews, ensures safe and efficient project delivery, and maintains compliance with project specifications, municipal standards, and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with established safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsSupervise, coordinate, and organize all underground construction activities on siteProvide clear direction to site Foremen to ensure roles, responsibilities, and daily objectives are understoodInterpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and regulations to support quality execution and risk managementOversee all phases of the project, including scheduling, sequencing, and quality control testingAnticipate, identify, and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and schedule challengesCommunicate potential risks, delays, or work interferences to senior management and assist in developing solutionsCollaborate with Project Managers and the construction management team to develop and implement project execution plansAttend site and coordination meetings as requiredConduct work direction talks and support ongoing safety communicationComplete required reporting and documentation related to site operationsQualifications:
Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Superintendent in underground utilities, with a focus on land development and subdivision projectsStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple crews and prioritiesExcellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field teams, management, and external stakeholdersAbility to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAdditional Information:
