We are looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our client, an industry leader, in Edmonton, Alberta. In this dual-focused role, you will be responsible for handling day-to-day general ledger activity, preparing month end reports, and supporting the payroll team with accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing for employees across multiple provinces.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform full cycle accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and assistance with month-end and year-end close.

Support accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing for a multi-provincial workforce, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal payroll regulations.

Collaborate with the payroll team to verify data integrity, resolve discrepancies, and respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries.

Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll reporting for management and compliance audits.

Maintain the general ledger, oversee accruals and prepaids, and ensure all financial data is up to date.

Assist with the preparation and filing of payroll-related tax forms and remittances.

Support ongoing process improvements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across accounting and payroll functions.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory requirements.
