The Accountant will be responsible for the full-cycle management of the company’s capital assets and lease portfolio. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely recording of all fixed asset transactions, depreciation, and lease accounting (ASC 842 / IFRS 16). Key responsibilities include maintaining the fixed asset register, conducting month-end closing activities, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and supporting internal/external audits.

Fixed Asset Management:

• Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Monitor Construction in Progress (CIP) projects, coordinating with construction team to ensure timely capitalization.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing journal entries related to fixed assets and lease accounting.
• Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledgers to the general ledger.

Lease Accounting (ASC 842/IFRS 16):

• Analyze commercial real estate and equipment leases for proper accounting treatment.
• Maintain the lease portfolio in accounting software, ensuring accuracy of right-of-use (ROU) assets and lease liabilities.

Reporting & Compliance:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual audit and disclosure schedules.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal controls (SOX) and GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Perform variance analysis on fixed assets and lease accounts for management reporting.
• Support variance analysis for operating expenses for management reporting as needed.
• Support intercompany reconciliations as needed.
• Support cross-functional projects, including ERP upgrades or system implementations.
• Special ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, specifically focusing on fixed assets and lease accounting.

  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 842/IFRS 16 (Leases) and ASC 360 (Fixed Assets).
• Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Preferred: CPA, CMA, or equivalent designation
