Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Nights

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Schedule: Monday, Friday, and Saturday 6pm–6:30am

Compensation: $40-50/hour + Shift Differential

Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and oversees medical services for a caseload of patients. This licensed nursing professional acts as the medical treatment plan coordinator for the multidisciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and discharge plan for each patient. The RN communicates with support staff, treatment teams, providers, and outside agencies on treatment and safety issues pertaining to patients and their families.

The RN works under supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider and performs duties according to established patient care protocols, standards, and procedures. All duties are completed in a professional and timely manner with documentation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to the multidisciplinary team as necessary
  • Administer medications to patients and participate in the education process
  • Utilize de-escalation skills when exposed to volatile patients to maintain safety for patients and staff
  • Provide admission, orientation, education and discharge plans to patients, families and others to aid in the treatment process
  • Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team in the development of treatment plans and discharge planning to strive for excellent patient care
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment and report needs for repairs
  • Manage admissions and discharges of patients
  • Obtain vital signs, monitor symptoms, and document in the patient record
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and scope of licensure
  • Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to assess needs and facilitate medical treatment
  • Document medical assessment, diagnosis, progress notes, roundings, and other treatment planning items in a timely manner
  • Collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain professional boundaries
  • Oversee quality assurance and compliance activities as appropriate
  • Provide medical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives to coordinate reimbursement
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with policies and standards of care
  • Perform other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Current, active RN license in the state of practice
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU preferred)
  • Enthusiasm and passion for helping people, with drive to improve lives
  • Maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout employment
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and build rapport with patients
  • Adherence to ethical standards of licensure
