Essential duties and responsibilities:
* assists the principal in promoting the improvement of instruction through a variety of strategies to ensure that students of all abilities and cultures learn.
* assists the principal in promoting positive student behavior and development through effective implementation of a school adopted discipline plan and a well-rounded student activities program that are in compliance with edmond public schools' policies and regulations.
* assists the principal in managing personnel effectively while complying with personnel policies, statues, and rules to enhance an environment that is conducive to student learning.
* assists the principal in administering budgets based on documented program needs and ensures facilities are appropriately maintained and safety of students and staff is a priority.
* assists the principal in actively seeking parental and community involvement in realizing the mission of the school.
* demonstrates an understanding of school climate and its relationship to positive morale and to the achievement of the mission of the school.
* assists the principal in providing leadership in coordinating research based school improvement efforts in collaboration with staff, parents and community members.
* demonstrates leadership by actively participating in professional development opportunities, by exercising professional conduct and by communication that is consistent with the mission of edmond public schools.
* ensures the implementation of edmond public schools curriculum and state mandates through frequent monitoring of instructional programs and classroom visits.
* serves on district committees as a resource member or leader in developing/studying district programs, procedures and curriculum.
* other duties as may be assigned.
Length of contract: one hundred ninety-five (195) contract days.
Evaluation: performance will be evaluated by the building principal in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.

Qualifications
Required
* education: master's or professional degree
* certifications, licenses, registrations: teaching certificate & valid elementary administrator l certificate.
* previous experience:
* 3-5 years work-related experience is required. Previous experience in a leadership position at the district/state level preferred.

* customer service, school safety, laws & regulations, computer hardware and software, instructional pedagogy and best practices, mediation skills, public relations
