Position Overview

Adjunct positions at UCO are part‑time teaching roles designed to build a pool of interested applicants. The Department may draw from this pool as sections open during the academic year. Adjunct faculty provide a quality learning experience, support the educational mission of the University of Central Oklahoma, the College of Liberal Arts, and the hiring department, and adhere to UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks.

• Teach core curriculum classes in Political Science, including American Federal Government and Introduction to World Politics, and/or courses in Law and Public Administration, depending on departmental needs.

• Possess at least a master’s degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
• Possess excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

• Doctorate and experience in teaching college‑level political science, law, and/or public administration.

• Knowledge of subject matter and working with core curriculum to teach lower‑level undergraduate classes.
