College/Department Overview

The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA).

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses to support degree and major programs in Organizational Leadership, General Studies, Occupational Safety, and Adult and Higher Education at the graduate level. Responsiveness to students, fellow program faculty, administrative assistant and Department Chair as necessary.

Experience Required

Possesses at least a master’s degree in the field of interest, and a terminal degree for graduate level courses and program.

Experience Preferred

Higher education teaching experience in the field of interest, and expertise in multiple delivery/instructional methods to include face to face, online, hybrid, and alternative delivery methods. Familiarity with UCO learning platform D2L.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Appropriate to the field of interest, in particular in multiple delivery methods. Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time and may involve in-class (face to face), as well as hybrid, online, and alternative delivery methods.
