Position Overview: Teaches, advises, and mentors students; evaluates student performance; maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies; adheres to the educational philosophy of the university; works collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers; participates in university faculty meetings; serves on department, college, and university committees; prepares departmental reports; engages in teaching, service, and scholarly/creative activities as outlined in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.
This is a full-time, tenure-track position.
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in kinesiology and exercise fitness management. Responsibilities include mentoring students, serving on various committees, engaging in scholarly activities such as research with undergraduate students, delivering professional presentations with students, and participating in community service.
College/Department OverviewThe College of Education and Professional Studies has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty, offering 23 undergraduate and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited, and other programs hold national and state recognitions. UCO's College has nearly 4,800 students, including about one-fourth graduate students. Qualifications/Experience RequiredExpected to engage in teaching, research, and service. An earned doctorate in the relevant field from a regionally accredited or recognized institution is required. If the doctorate is not obtained by employment start, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.
Qualifications/Experience PreferredDoctorate in Kinesiology or related field, with potential or record of teaching and service activities.
