Position: Auditor I

Job Title

Auditor I – Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector, Oklahoma City office

About the Role

Our goal is to promote accountability and fiscal integrity in state and local government. As an Auditor I, you will use accounting and auditing skills to audit state government agencies within Oklahoma.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial and federal compliance audits
  • Conduct interviews with client personnel
  • Evaluate internal controls and determine compliance with laws and regulations
  • Assess effectiveness of operations and procedures
  • Perform specific audit procedures and prepare audit working papers for the final audit report
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and Government Auditing Standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CAATS
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and time‑management skills
  • Interest in continued professional development
Salary and Benefits

Entry‑level salary range $50,000 to $52,000, commensurate with education and experience.
