Laboratory Technician I – Entry Level, Full‑time, Weds‑Sunday schedule 8:00 am‑4:30 pm plus overtime as needed. Compensation: $17.50 per hour plus 15% shift differential (effective day 1 = $20.13/hour).

This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals interested in a laboratory career. A college degree is not required.

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Perform sample preparation, which may include:
  • Aliquot samples
  • Spike and trace samples
  • Prepare reagents
  • Bottle samples
  • Prepare concentrations
  • Separation
  • Sonication
  • Liquid rack set up
• Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepare general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Wash laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stock laboratory supplies.
• Clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist other laboratory areas as needed.

• General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
• Mechanically inclined and enjoys instrument troubleshooting
• Comfortable with a flexible schedule (8‑hour shift may become 12‑hour shift in busy season)

• Education:
  
  High school chemistry coursework a must; basic laboratory experience.
• Laboratory experience helpful. Previous production‑oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines).
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 30 lbs when moving samples and disposing of waste.
• Pushing and pulling up to 200 lbs when moving sample carts and gas tanks.
• Standing approximately 60% of the time, walking 10%, sitting 30% during computer work or paperwork.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching when getting samples and performing analyses.
• Handling samples, operating instruments, data entry, speaking, hearing, and vision as required.
