Job Overview

The JFK Neuroscience Institute Neuro Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant position utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./neurosciences

Responsibilities include inpatient neurology consultations. Schedule is 7 days on/7 days off, 8‑hour days starting at 8 or 9 am, weekends to be discussed. On‑call required.

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Advance Practice Nurse License.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Board certified by AANP or ANCC.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

• Physician Assistant License.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
