Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Tely/Stroke, Full Time Nights position is with JFK University Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian Health. The RN functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes. This role focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. It directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination, and coordinates patient care/activity among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.

ResponsibilitiesA Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health delivers nursing practices according to current evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe, high-quality care. A day in the life includes the following phases:
- Assessment – Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient s health or situation; perform age- and disease-specific assessment/data collection; recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes; identify education needs based on age, disease, and cultural learning differences.
- Plan – Develop a plan of care with strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes; formulate age- and disease-specific, patient/family-centered goals; coordinate a comprehensive plan spanning the continuum of care.
- Implementation – Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan; maintain ongoing communication with patient/family, nursing colleagues, and health care team; provide age- and disease-specific care; educate patient/family; document events; adhere to protocols; ensure safe, evidence-based care; perform continuous electronic documentation; utilize medication administration technologies; coordinate multi-disciplinary discharge planning.
- Evaluation – Evaluate progress toward outcomes; use critical thinking to achieve desired results; initiate interventions for changes in condition or unexpected responses to care.
Additional Responsibilities – Identify ethical issues; enhance patient satisfaction; maintain required competencies/certifications; adhere to American Nurses Association Code for Nurses; meet physical demands (lift, push/pull, stand); align with organizational standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities
Required –
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
- BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain within three years of hire (policy details apply per hire date).
- Six months or more of relevant nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health s Nurse Residency Program.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, accountability for improving lives, teamwork, commitment to ongoing education, and dedication to high-quality patient care.

Skills And Abilities
Preferred – National Certification in area of specialty, when eligible.
Licenses And Certifications Required – Current, valid Registered Nurse license for the assigned HMH location by date of hire; BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
CompensationMinimum rate of $45.14 per hour. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and does not reflect the full value of our total rewards package.
