A Registered Nurse provides nursing care according to current evidence-based practice, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and high-quality patient care. The following outlines a typical day in the life of a Registered Nurse in this role:

• Assessment:
  Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; performs age- and disease-specific assessments, recognizing changes in clinical status.
• Plan:
  Develops a plan of care with patient/family-centered goals based on assessment data.
• Implementation:
  Coordinates and implements the plan of care; provides ongoing communication with patients, families, and the health care team; ensures understanding through patient/family education.
• Evaluation:
  Evaluates progress toward outcomes and initiates interventions for changes in condition.

• Identifies ethical issues and promotes patient satisfaction.
• Maintains competencies and continuing education to meet accreditation and licensing requirements.
• Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
• Lifts, pushes, and stands per facility safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Required

• Minimum of an associate degree in Nursing or diploma of Nursing.
• BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire within three years of hire (policy varies by hire date and contract).
• Six (6) months or more of relevant nursing experience OR active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to learn quickly, strong accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-focused care.

Licenses And Certifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.

Compensation

• Starting at $45.14 hourly. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and may be adjusted with a full rewards package.
