candidates must have reliable transportation, ability to work after hours, excellent customer service skills, ability to climb a ladder once moved into the field, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and crawl on the floor under furniture.
the field technician serves as the primary onsite representative for resolving technical and service-related issues. This role is responsible for diagnosing, installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of it hardware including laser printers, wide-format printers, kiosks, pos systems, and associated software. The technician may collaborate with level ii or lead technicians to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely issue resolution.
duties and responsibilities- diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues involving laser printers, wide format / plotters, kiosks, and pos systems.
- install, configure, and maintain it equipment and related applications.
- perform preventive and routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- provide clear, professional technical support to customers both onsite and via phone.
- maintain accurate service documentation, ensuring compliance with quality and operational standards.
- strong working knowledge of printers (laser and wide format / plotters), computer hardware, and software systems. Electro-mechanical experience a plus.
- emphasis on experience repairing laser and wide-format printers.
- demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
- excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- ability to manage multiple tasks independently while also functioning effectively in a team environment.
- physical ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
the rate for this position is between $16.50 - $22.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
