Entry Level Lab Technician; Weds- Sun Environmental Testing

Overview

• Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performs sample preparation, including: aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, and liquid rack setup.
• Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stocks laboratory supplies and cleans work areas to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assists other laboratory areas as needed.

• Education:
  
  High school chemistry coursework; basic laboratory experience.
• Experience:
  
  Laboratory experience helpful; prior production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines).
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ba/BS or without a college degree candidates would excel in this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Lifting and carrying: up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 30 pounds when moving samples and disposing of waste.
• Pushing and pulling: up to 200 pounds when moving sample carts and gas tanks.
• Body positions: standing ~60%, walking ~10%, sitting ~30%; ability to sit, stand, or stoop for long periods.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching when handling samples and analyses.
• Sensory: smelling for unusual odors, leakage, contamination; vision and hearing adequate for job tasks; speaking ability required.
