Pay Range: $15.58 – $21.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)
OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Receptionist to serve as the welcoming face of our clinic. In this vital role, you will greet patients and visitors, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they step into our facility.
Responsibilities- Greets patients and visitors promptly and courteously, collects required forms, and obtains demographic and insurance information.
- Obtains copies of patients' insurance cards and valid driver's licenses for filing, and updates records as necessary.
- Registers new patients into the system and prepares/organizes new patient charts.
- Notifies nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order, and assists in preparing charts for the next day's appointments.
- Collects co‑pays, deductibles, and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at time of visit, issuing receipts when required.
- Distributes condolence cards to patients' families as requested.
- Maintains the lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Identifies no‑shows and forwards notifications for patient outreach.
- Demonstrates understanding of patient confidentiality to protect patient and clinic information.
- Follows policies and procedures to contribute to front‑office efficiency, covering other front‑office functions as requested.
- Prepares correspondence, memos, forms, and other typing tasks as requested by supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum three years of office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
The job requires prolonged sitting, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting of files or paper up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity for operating computer equipment, telephone, and copier is essential. Corrected vision of 20/20 and normal hearing range are required.
