Réalis is hiring! We are currently seeking an entry level Roadway Design Engineer to join our growing Roads and Highways team in our Edison, NJ office.

• Design and develop plans and drawings, including preliminary layout and final drawings.
• Organize and conduct engineering investigations and planning work with a well‑defined scope.
• Prepare reports and sections of more complex reports under periodic review.
• Provide engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings, preparing records, progress reports, and evaluating quality control testing.
• Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
• Contribute to the development of specifications and permit applications, and write miscellaneous reports.
• Prepare preliminary man‑hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
• Participate in quality control checks and maintain quality standards in all work produced.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as required.
• Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Edison, New Jersey, United States of America

Completion of a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related technical field from an ABET accredited college/university.

0‑2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.

• Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing and communication skills.
• PC and CAD skills required.
• Experience with Open Roads Design is a plus.

E.I. or EIT desired.

Expected compensation range is between $80,000 to $95,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
