Graphic Designer, Packaging

Mario Badescu Skin Care is looking for a highly creative, detail-oriented Packaging Graphic Designer to create innovative packaging from concept to execution as we expand our almost 60 year old skincare product line to new lifestyle categories. The position is primarily responsible for packaging design, but will also handle other creative print projects as necessary.

• Collaborate with Vice President of Creative, Sales and Marketing teams to produce primary and secondary packaging for new launches and kits
• Produce mood boards and packaging renderings for presentation of ideas
• Create labels and kits for discussion and approval
• Prep artwork for print production and work closely with our print vendor to ensure smooth processes, packaging fit and print quality
• Work with creative team to adapt artwork for global variations and update current packaging files when necessary
• Maintain packaging standards, while bringing in new sources of creativity
• Keep project files organized and ensure deadlines are being met
• Gather translations from vendors and approvals from retailer teams when necessary
• Light photo retouching

• BA or BFA in Graphic Design
• 1-4 years Packaging Design experience in a deadline-driven environment
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Team player that is highly organized, has exceptional time management skills, pays close attention to detail and can follow project briefs
• Ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment
• Eager to take on new challenges and ability to take constructive criticism and feedback on design work
• Experience with print production, working within dielines and prepping final artwork
• Knowledge of regulatory processes and needs a plus
• Experience in beauty or other lifestyle consumer goods industry preferred
• Must know:
  Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
• Must be familiar with:
  Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Acrobat, large file transfer services
