Senior Project Accountant

A rapidly expanding commercial electrical contractor near Edison, NJ, is seeking a Senior Project Accountant

• Billing & Accounts Receivable: Preparing and submitting monthly AIA requisitions and payment applications. You'll also prepare invoices, manage change order logs, and follow up with customers on collections.
• Job Costing & Profitability: Analyzing job costs and project financials to determine profitability. You'll be responsible for profit recognition and preparing detailed profit and loss reports.
• Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Using internal applications to produce cash management reports and forecasts for upper management.
• Project Communication: Acting as a liaison with project management and customers to resolve all financial issues related to billing, change orders, and project closeouts.
• Compliance: Preparing necessary waivers, tax certificates, and certified payroll reports as required.
• Hands-on Support: Maintaining organized job files and assisting the Director of Project Accounting and Controller with other accounting activities.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting is a must.
• Leadership capabilities and attention to detail/organization
• Experience in electrical construction is a plus.
• Proficiency Vista Viewpoint is a big plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
