OpportunityWe’re recruiting a Lead Data Architect to join our Technology Function at Tesco Insurance and Money Services, reporting into the Head of Data and AI Services. As the lead for the data architecture domain, you will enable transformational change, deliver business outcomes and unlock opportunities through data.
Responsibilities- Develop and evolve a strategic architecture plan for robust, aligned solutions across the business ecosystem.
- Prioritise data features, monitor design activities, and track progress against the overall architecture plan.
- Document complex "as is" and "to be" processes, including analysis of "As Is" and "To Be" states.
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies and architectural patterns.
- Lead application software development and analysis of areas for modification and improvements.
- Drive data governance, architecture governance, and support data and process mapping within a regulated organisation.
- Provide oversight to ensure third‑party services align with data architecture standards.
- Lead the development and growth of a high‑performing data architecture team.
- Champion the data agenda across Tesco Insurance and Money Services, driving adoption of modern data standards, architectural patterns, and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.
- Ensure that Data Architects, Solution Architects, and Engineers consistently follow established architecture principles and practices.
- Subject matter expertise in Data Architecture, Data Modelling and Data Management.
- Experience managing aspects of architecture governance and contributing to data governance.
- Experience of Data & Process Mapping within a regulated organisation.
- Strong data & technical skills – preference for IBM Infosphere Server, Datastage, SAS, COGNOS.
- Robust understanding of cloud infrastructure.
- Leadership experience.
