We are looking for a Dayshift Auto Electrician to join our busy Engineering Department!
This is a permanent role for a fully qualified Auto Electrician or Vehicle Technician with a strong electrical bias. You will be working a 4 day week dayshift, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday, rotating.
What will you be doing?- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various makes and models of PSV’s to Lothian & DVSA standards
- Diagnose and rectify all types of electrical faults
- Carry out company approved modifications and campaigns
- Use diagnostic equipment and software to locate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical and electrical components
- Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
- Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
- Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
- You must possess a full UK driving licence
- You must be a time served Auto Electrician or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in electrical diagnostics
- Experience in reading wiring schematics is essential
- A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
- An aptitude to develop others within the engineering team to improve efficiencies
- Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours
- Experience of working in the truck or bus industry would be advantageous
- Experience with Volvo OEM diagnostic tools and information platforms would be advantageous.
- An hourly rate of pay £21.75
