Contract37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1500 (alternative working patterns welcomed)
Compensation£37,040 + OTE
Overtime RatesWeekends (10pm Friday – 6am Monday): 2× regular rate. Midweek weekends: 1.5×

Aboutthe Role
In this role you will service, repair, and maintain all plant equipment and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will minimise equipment downtime, support operational teams, and maintain compliance with health, safety, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical systems within the port, including forklift trucks, ship to shore cranes, industrial plant, lock‑gear infrastructure and commercial vehicles.
- Installation and maintenance of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems and control circuits across industrial and commercial areas of the port.
- Undertake training to become an Authorised Person for operating and maintaining HV distribution equipment.
- Develop an in‑depth working knowledge of plant equipment and associated drawings to minimise downtime during repairs.
- Escalate any equipment damage to supervisory staff and liaise with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs.
- Implement best‑practice maintenance techniques to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure equipment is maintained for efficient plant operation.
- Served a formal recognised electrical apprenticeship.
- Previous experience within an industrialised environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLCs and LV distribution is ideal.
- Experience working on mobile plant desirable but not essential.
- Strong initiative in managing tasks independently and driving work forward.
- Confident communicator and able to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work at height, in confined spaces and outdoors (essential).
- Full UK driving licence.
