The Business Development Director, Europe (Commercial Outsourcing Deployment Solutions) is responsible for driving new business growth across European pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts by selling outsourced commercial, medical, solutions and services. The role focuses on enterprise-level opportunity creation, strategic account development, and conversion of complex, multi-service engagements.
This role can be based anywhere in Europe. We welcome applicants from any EU/EEA country.
Responsibilities:
- Own and expand a portfolio of European pharmaceutical and biotech accounts with accountability for pipeline and revenue growth
- Identify, qualify, and progress mid-to-large value, multi-country opportunities across Contract Services Organisation (CSO) service offerings. Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned to client needs and organizational capabilities.
- Lead senior-level client engagement across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Procurement stakeholders
- Drive opportunity shaping, proposal development, pricing strategy, and bid defense through cross-functional collaboration
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking using CRM tools
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Significant experience in senior Business Development roles within a Contract Services Organisation (CSO), Contract Research Organisation (CRO), or pharma services environment
- Proven success selling complex, outsourced services to pharmaceutical companies. Experience managing multi-country European accounts
- Strong understanding of pharma commercial, medical, and/or clinical operating models
- Strategic, consultative and insight-led selling approach
- Willingness to travel internationally ~30% of time
