Horti Assistant, Mortonhall Garden Centre; Temp

We are looking for a Full Time Temporary Horticultural Assistant to join the team in our Mortonhall Garden Centre.

Our competitive rates of pay range from  £10 to  £12.25 per hour dependent on age.

The hours for this position are 30 per week over 4 days including regular weekend shifts so flexibility is a must.

This is a temporary role until June 2026.

As a Horticultural Assistant, you must have specialist plant knowledge and be able to provide excellent customer service & to create an exceptional shopping experience for our customers helping them to make informed purchases.

• Plant stock replenishment and merchandising to create fabulous plant displays
• Look after and care for our plants ensuring they are always healthy and looking great for our customers
• Advising our customers on suitable plants and products for their needs, taking every opportunity to WOW.
• Till operation and serving customers
• Carry out cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed
  
  Assisting customers with carrying purchases to their cars
• Collecting trolleys and shopping baskets

• Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for customer service.
• Knowledgeable and passionate about plants and plant related products
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
