The OpportunityA Postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr Kevin Myant to carry out a collaborative project to test and develop a novel therapeutic for the treatment of colorectal cancer. The project, sponsored by the industry partner Trogenix, is a collaboration with Prof Steven Pollard and aims to test the applicability to enhancer driven cell targeting in metastatic disease. The project will use patient derived human organoid models to determine how cancer cells respond to these therapies providing proof-of-principle of the applicability of this approach.
The position is initially fixed-term for 18 months and would be ideally suited to a researcher keen to bridge academic and translational/industry related projects.
For more information, please contact Dr Kevin Myant ().
Responsibilities and project contextThe role involves carrying out a collaborative research project to evaluate a novel therapeutic approach for colorectal cancer using patient-derived organoid models and molecular biology techniques. Specific day-to-day responsibilities are not listed in the source text; the description is retained as provided and focused on the research objectives and setting.
Your skills and attributes for success- Awarded, or soon-to-be-awarded, PhD in cancer biology or a related biomedical field.
