The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled bioinformatician to join our team. You will have an interest and previous experience analysing omics datasets – including single cell, spatial transcriptomic and proteomic data. You will apply this experience to perform cutting edge analyses to a range of liver disease and cancer projects across our research programme.

You will be a critical member of a predominantly wet-lab team who are eager to make the most of multi-omics data generated in-house.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The salary for this post is £34,610 to £39,906 per annum, depending on experience. The position is initially available for 24 months.

Your skills and attributes for success
  • Willing to provide approachable and enthusiastic support across the spectrum of bioinformatics analysis, but with a particular focus in single cell and spatial methodologies.
  • Maintain the highest quality records, analysis and outputs.
  • Keep up to date with the latest methodologies and pipelines, applying these to our in-house datasets and previously published data.
  • Be engaged with wide-ranging biological questions (particularly in liver disease and cancer).
  • Be willing to provide training to other members of the research group.
