Location:
London/Edinburgh (Hybrid) Role description:
The ideal candidate ensures high availability and optimal performance of the DB2 subsystem. This role requires deep technical knowledge of SMP/E, z/OS internals, and third-party management tools like Broadcom (formerly CA) Platinum and Broadcom SYSVIEW.
Core Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance:
Use SMP/E to install, patch (PTFs), and upgrade DB2 subsystems. System Performance:
Monitor and tune DB2 system parameters (ZPARMS), buffer pools, and EDM pools. Disaster Recovery:
Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for the DB2 catalog and directory. Tooling Management:
Install and maintain third-party products (e.g., Platinum, SYSVIEW for DB2) to assist in database management and monitoring. Security:
Implement and manage DB2 security using RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret. Key skills:

Additional qualifications:
Experiance in IMS installation and Production db2/ims DBA support
