We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Risk VP – Procurement

You’ll be part of the global Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) Procurement team executing an agenda that is composed of a blend of global, regional and country priorities. The remit will include driving and coordinating the delivery of priorities across the global footprint of Procurement. BRR is a 1st Line of Defence function that plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.

You’ll be expected on occasion to work outside of the BRR Procurement domain and/or outside of the designated region to support the execution of the broader BRR agenda.

Responsibilities
  • Support, advise and challenge Procurement management to ensure that their risks are understood and well controlled
  • Analise the performance of the control environment, performing end-to-end reviews, deep dive thematic reviews to identify weaknesses and designing new or modified controls to remediate these weaknesses
  • Support the BRR lead and the team to deliver the required support to Procurement management, sharing best practices, mentoring and coaching new staff
  • Perform risk assessment deep dives initiated by trigger events such as internal and external incidents
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across 1st and 2nd line to ensure adherence to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and operational risk policies, and to influence policy/control standards where needed
  • Work with Procurement and GB/GFs to review and critique front-to-back processes and controls
  • Ensure risk and control standards (including the BRR Control Design Principles) are incorporated in the design of new processes
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimise the likelihood of it occurring, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
Qualifications
  • Strong operational risk management expertise, clear understanding of operational risk and how it’s managed, understanding of risk and control frameworks and risk polices
  • Proven procurement domain knowledge e.g., Third Party Management, Source to Contract, Accounts Payable
  • Control design and control assurance capability reviewing front-to-back processes/controls; embedding control design principles
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex information and generate actionable insight and recommendations
  • Experience of root-cause analysis of incidents/errors and translating findings into sustainable remediation
  • Stakeholder management and influencing with confidence to advise, challenge and work with senior management
  • Ideally have experience of Helios Risk Management system but not essential
  • Understanding of controls associated with Financial Accounting, Balance Sheet Substantiation, SOX Requirements
