Job Description What is the opportunity?
The role of Manager, Asset Services, is responsible for leading an operational team function and ensuring the effective management of operational risk while maintaining data integrity. The Manager requires a deep understanding of operational procedures and practices, as well as the ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives, drive process improvements, and make informed decisions that impact Wealth Management Europe (WME) Operations.
The role is accountable for all team management activities, including adherence to HR processes and promoting team engagement.
Additionally, the role is expected to foster a positive working environment for the operational team function and act as a role‑model in‑line with group values encouraging colleagues to speak up for the good of RBC.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?- Ensure procedures are maintained and adhered to, guaranteeing a high level of accuracy and the timely delivery of service in accordance with relevant WME Operations procedures, standards and SLAs (where defined)
- Review and sign‑off of departmental procedures in‑line with regulatory and audit requirements, while delivering on agreed timescales (for example, ensuring active individual and team engagement with Active Ops)
- Ensure timely and appropriate levels of escalation, as well as proactively supporting the resolution of risks and issues
- Set a clear direction and purpose for operational team function aligned with group strategy
- Ensure personal and team member understanding and adherence to Risk and Control, Policy Frameworks specific to the role in WME Operations
- Embed and drive a culture of simplification and innovation via continuous improvement within team(s) and working collaboratively with Operational Initiatives
- Ensure the change portfolio is understood and adequately resourced from within the team to support the deliverables working collaboratively with Operations Initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership experience with proven ability to manage, coach and develop high‑performing teams.
- Understanding of Financial Services.
- Able to navigate change and bring teams with you, maintaining engagement and performance.
- Excellent motivator and proven ability to use own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management to deliver effective planning and organisation.
- Excellent delegation skills.
- Experience of supporting internal and external stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Experience with in the Financial Services Sector.
