Health & Safety Manager – Edinburgh – Up to GBP

We are working with a growing, multi–site operational business who work within safety–critical environments across the UK. While it maintains a solid health and safety record, it recognises there are gaps and opportunities to strengthen the approach as the business continues to scale

This is the first dedicated Health & Safety hire for the business, offering significant scope to shape, embed and evolve the function!

Health & Safety Manager –The Details
  • Paying between GBP
    45,000 – GBP
    55,000 depending on experience
  • Company car or car allowance

Health & Safety Manager – Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Leading and developing the Health & Safety framework, policies and procedures
  • Assess existing Health & Safety practices, identifying gaps and prioritising improvements
  • Supporting operational teams working in high–risk environments, including confined spaces
  • Working closely with branch management to embed safety systems
  • Develop and manage H&S training programmes, including inductions and refresher training
  • Support and manage accident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits and accreditations
  • Contribute to ISO 9001 alignment and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong Health & Safety background within industrial, utilities, engineering, manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and structured management systems
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, balancing compliance with operational practicality

  • Comfortable operating in a relaxed but accountable culture
  • Must be team–focused, flexible and reliable
  • Some travel will be required – must have full driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are a must!
