The Opportunity

The Head of Procurement Strategic Programs Execution is a leadership team role that sits within the Strategy & Solutions Chapter. Our purpose is to guide strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, govern compliance and drive sustainability to deliver continuous improvement and strengthen Global Procurement's impact on the wider Roche organisation. The Strategic Programs Execution team is dedicated to driving complex procurement-led programs that deliver high impact benefits for Roche and result in a step change in how we work with suppliers, use technology, partner with the business or collaborate with each other in Procurement.

In partnership with Global Procurement and business teams, they accelerate and enhance the delivery of GP led strategic programs.

You'll operate in a dynamic global environment, leading the Strategic Programs Execution team by providing vision, leadership, capability development, prioritisation of the initiative pipeline and ensuring successful program delivery.

  • You will lead, coach and guide a medium sized team of Strategic Programs Managers ensuring the best allocation of your people to ensure flexibility, talent development, and excellence in execution, outcomes delivery, and performance.
  • You utilise in depth knowledge and expertise in Procurement-led productivity, optimisation and change programs to provide thought leadership, advice, and know-how on relevant capability topics, strategies, and best practices.
  • You will define and shape the vision and priorities of the Procurement Strategic Programs Execution team, focusing on transformative initiatives such as strategic sourcing, high-impact negotiations, procurement technology advancements and operating model updates.

You drive the delivery and continuous improvement of Procurement-led productivity, optimisation and change programs while coaching team members and exemplifying agile behaviors.
  • You serve as a catalyst, guiding the alignment and co-creation of improvements to GP-led strategic programs while developing a well-prioritised portfolio of initiatives.
  • You work in a matrix setup with capability teams, networks, and squads/project teams to ensure prioritisation and delivery of initiatives.

  • Proven success in building, cultivating, and managing large, global, and senior teams. You also have a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement value chain.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in delivering organisational-level change, such as major procurement change programs across various categories or significant changes to processes and technology.
  • A resourceful and action-oriented mindset, able to make decisions and influence others, prioritising the repurposing of existing ideas over starting from scratch. You're also open-minded and willing to experiment with new ideas, focusing on continuous learning and improvement.
