The Education Analytical Services (EAS) Division is a busy and high-profile division working to provide high quality statistical, social research and economic evidence to enhance the lives of children and young people. We lead on providing evidence to a wide range of policy areas, in areas such as early learning and childcare, vulnerable children and young people, education and lifelong learning and skills.

This post will play a central role in supporting the Deputy Director and the Senior Management Team (SMT), with the smooth operation of division-wide business processes. The division consists of around 55 analytical staff (statisticians, social researchers and economists) together with a further 7 staff who provide operational and administrative support. We are a collaborative and fast-paced Division where everyone has autonomy and responsibility for delivering high-quality work that underpins the divisions effectiveness and helps make EAS a great place to work.

  • Managing and delivering business support process, including support to the deputy director and senior management team.
  • Business and delivery planning and governance.
  • Oversight of the smooth running of people management processes and supporting the divisional approach to issues raised in the People Survey, taking the lead on some of the areas for improvement as identified by the Senior Management Team.
  • Lead on the division's resourcing approach, including preparing advice and reports for the Senior Management Team.
  • Planning and delivering divisional wide communications and engagement.
  • Manage and coordinate divisional responses to corporate and portfolio related commission.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, division colleagues and colleagues across Scottish Government and provide resilience support for team members in line with team priorities.
