Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM) to lead the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Edinburgh.

This is a key role within a growing renewable energy investment and development business that owns and operates its own portfolio of large-scale energy assets.

As the Project Manager
, you will act as the client representative, managing contractors, overseeing project execution, and ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards. The role is hands‑on and requires deep technical understanding of battery projects and grid connection processes.

• Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a BESS project through design, construction, and commissioning.

• Act as client representative on‑site, overseeing EPC and subcontractor performance.

• Manage stakeholder engagement across grid operators, local authorities, landowners, and internal teams.

• Ensure compliance with National Grid
  , NESO
  , and all relevant regulatory and technical requirements.

• Oversee project risk management, budget control, scheduling, and reporting.

• Drive project progress, problem‑solve challenges, and ensure safety, quality, and performance targets are achieved.

• Provide technical input and leadership within a collaborative, growing team.

• Proven track record delivering battery energy storage system (BESS) projects – essential.

• Strong understanding of grid connection processes

• Experience managing multiple contractors, EPC partners, and suppliers.

• Familiarity with risk management and project governance frameworks.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to act as a client‑side representative.

• Engineering, construction management, or related technical degree preferred.
