The RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a Commercial Property or Rural Property Solicitor (2–4
PQE) to join a highly respected Rural Property Team in the heart of Edinburgh.
You will work on both traditional Rural Property work and also advise on Scotland’s rapidly growing energy sector, advising landowners, developers and investors on commercial land matters, energy project agreements and diversification strategies.
Whether your background is in Rural or Commercial Property, this role offers exceptional exposure to high-quality work and the chance to build a career in one of the most dynamic growth areas in the Scottish legal market.
The Work- Advise landowners and estates on commercial leases, options and project agreements.
- Provide practical, commercial advice on the full spectrum of Rural Property law.
- Act in the sale, purchase and leasing of estates, forests, farms, natural capital assets and rural development projects
- Advise clients on law reform and regulatory change affecting the rural and energy sectors
- Manage your own caseload while supporting broader team initiatives
- Contribute to business development and strengthen long-term client relationships
- 2-4 years’ PQE in Rural Property or Commercial Property
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to offer pragmatic solutions
- Excellent communication, client-care and organisational skills
- Confident in managing a varied caseload and deadlines
- Proactive approach to business development and client engagement
- Genuine interest in the Rural work and economy
- Exposure to high-quality, complex work across the Rural sector
- Supportive culture committed to training, development and career progression
- Work with an impressive client base including estates, HNW individuals, institutions and public bodies
