The OpportunityWhere curiosity becomes impact. We are looking for a talented cyber security specialist to join the University's Information Security Directorate within the Cyber Security Operations Team.

Working as part of a small team of cyber security specialists, the role will be at the forefront of protecting the University digital estate from potential cyber threats and risks. Responsible for identifying, mitigating and investigating suspicious cyber activity, you will help maintain the University's ability to deliver our core teaching, learning and research digital services.
Your skills and attributes for success- Extensive technical experience gained from a similar role.
- Detailed understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures deployed by malicious threat actors.
- Technical skills in one or more of the following network and systems security:
Windows/Unix/Linux systems administration, intrusion detection/prevention technologies, security information and event management tools and technologies. - A passion to develop within a team providing key technical cyber security support to colleagues undertaking world class teaching, learning and research.
- Desire to thrive in a challenging environment, working to tight deadlines whilst gathering, understanding, interpreting and analysing multiple data sources to provide concise, actionable solutions to cyber problems.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
