As a Principal Data Governance Consultant within our new Asset, Data and Information team, you will help empower lasting industry transformation. We are looking for a consultant with strong experience in data and especially data governance, ideally with experience in one of our key growth sectors:
Water, Buildings, Rail, Aviation or Defence.

• Build a data governance service to support clients in improving data quality and reliability
• Guide road‑mapping of the overall data strategy and support delivery of data governance practices
• Provide evidence‑based advice on master data, data quality and organisational systems to support best practice in data governance
• Adapt advice to different sectors and client needs
• Scale the data strategy capability by creating opportunities for growth

• Lead data governance projects from short‑term strategy to long‑term delivery of enterprise improvements
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and a key part of building our reputation in data governance
• Support the Data Strategy team in shaping the data governance opportunity for infrastructure clients
• Grow your internal and client network to identify new opportunities
• Support bidding, scoping, and opportunity identification for new projects
• Manage your professional development to remain competent in tools and approaches that support clients
• Contribute to team development through recruitment, line management, innovation projects, events, and peer support

• Certified data management professional (DMBOK) with substantial direct experience of data governance and strategy, preferably in low data maturity or infrastructure organisations
• Experience delivering a variety of data governance change projects with demonstrable strategy and application across contexts
• Strong understanding of regulatory impact on data governance, especially in highly regulated environments
• Strong project, programme or people‑management skills and experience
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement, presentation of results, and aligning data projects with organisational vision
• Experience with enterprise data governance tools, particularly within Microsoft Azure or Fabric

• Experience in one or more of transportation, energy, water, defence, buildings, environment, or technology sectors
• Consultancy experience in client work, bid writing, proposal development, networking, and business development
• Technical data skills such as Power
  
  BI (bonus)
• Creative approach to scoping projects and recognising value‑creating opportunities
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, such as membership or chartership with a professional body
