Utility Data Platform Engineer – Edinburgh, UK

For one of our globally leading tech clients we are urgently looking for an experienced Utility Data Platform Engineer for a long contract based in Edinburgh, UK. The role focuses on developing and managing GridOS Data Fabric solutions, integrating utility data across OT, IT and external sources, and supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics applications.

• Design and implement GridOS Data Fabric solutions to streamline utility data access and management.
• Develop data integration pipelines across OT, IT, and external data sources (e.g., weather, traffic).
• Configure and manage metadata catalogs for data governance, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to improve data discovery, quality, and usage.
• Support real-time and batch data processing using big data and cloud technologies.
• Optimize data workflows for AI, ML, and advanced analytics applications.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GridOS Data Fabric deployments.
• Stay current with grid modernization, data management, and energy analytics trends.

• Utility Grid Operations & Grid Modeling
• Real-time Data Streaming & IoT Integration
• Data Governance & Metadata Management
• Experience with GridOS or similar grid data management platforms.
• Knowledge of utility operations, distributed energy resources, and grid modeling.
• Strong SQL and ETL experience.
• Big data technologies:
  Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Dev Ops experience with Kubernetes.
• Containerization with Docker.
• Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration skills.
